Race Around the Needle Pub Crawl

Last week I had the pleasure of being part of the “Race Around the Needle Pub Crawl” a
foundation for Melissa Erickson (aka Mo). The foundation was created in honor of Mo and to
raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS).
I did not have a lot of prior knowledge regarding the disease state but I quickly learned that
many people lives have been effected by this disease in one way or another. That is why the
Melissa Erickson Foundation is so important in the efforts to raise awareness as well as funding
for expenses.
During my time at the event the love and beers were flowing and for a good reason, Mo. Need
I say more. Although this was my first time meeting Mo I realized that my job that day was not to
photograph another event for my resume but it was to be a team player and play my role. My job that
day was to capture the memories, the love, the fun and the essence of what it means to race
around the needle for a special person like Mo. I do what I do to make a living but times like this
really sum up why I grab my camera every morning and head out into the streets hoping to put a
smile on someones face.
Follow Mo and donate to the Melissa Erickson Foundation:
Thank you Mo,
